Howard Mitchell, aka the mysterious el gato negro, has a working
knowledge of the movie set and white page. He is a free lance,
underground, independent film director who has traveled abroad and is
currently living in Portland Oregon. Students at PSU may have recently
caught his regular comic strip "el gato negro," in the PSU Vanguard as
well as some of his art in other periodicals and magazines throughout
the Portland city (KPSU Magazine, the Spectre etc.). His recent film
work has caught the attention of Ron Craig, the Emmy nominated OPB
producer of The Oregon Experience and will soon appear in Mr. Craig's
Astoria festival and others in the Northwest circuit before going to
Sundance in Utah and then European festivals respectively.
